With over 200,000 members world-wide, PMI is the leading non-profit professional association in the area of Project Management standards, provides seminars, educational programs and professional certification that more and more organizations desire for their project leaders.
PMI administers a certification program in Project Management. PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is the Project management profession’s most globally recognized and respected certification credential. To obtain PMP certification an individual must satisfy education and experience requirements, agree to and adhere to a Code of Professional Conduct, and pass the PMP Certification Examination.

Members and Associates,
This month our combined Chapter and Branch meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd. Chapter and Branch business will be conducted separately, but portions of the Chapter meeting and all of the presentation will provided live to all members present. The joint portions of the meeting will benefit from improved internet connectivity beginning with this meeting. The usual Chapter and Board meeting will be at the Railroad Seafood Station, located at 1214 N. Chaparral Street, Corpus Christi. The Board meeting begins at 4:30 pm and the general membership meeting at 6:00 pm. The RGV Branch meeting will follow the same schedule and be held at the South Texas College – Weslaco campus located at 400 N. Border Street, Weslaco, TX.
Our scheduled speaker this month is John Upchurch.. John’s presentation will be on the very visible Las Brisas project.

Do you know a senior high school student considering a career in PM?
The PMI Coastal Bend Chapter is offering an academic scholarship in the amount of $1,000. In order to be considered eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in or applying for an accredited academic degree program in project management or a related field benefitting from project management, with the following order of priority: 1. A member of the PMI Coastal Bend Chapter or a member of their immediate family attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university in any location. An immediate family member includes a spouse, children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. 2. An individual attending or planning to attend an accredited college of university in South Texas (South Texas is defined as from San Antonio and all southern locations from the Rio Grande River to the Gulf of Mexico). 3. If there are no qualified candidates fulfilling one of the above priorities, an individual attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university in Texas.
