Martin Schmitt has about 9 years combined experience in the construction and offshore fabrication industries. Before joining AG|CM in 2007, he worked with Peter Kiewit Sons, where he managed large projects including a $37-million Topside fabrication and integration for Exmar Offshore, the $12.5-million Bascule Bridge fabrication for Kiewit Southern and projects in the Northeast including the “Big Dig”. Martin, who has a degree in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, has spent most of his time managing safety, quality, schedules, budgets and staff to ensure contracts are completed on time and within budget.
Currently Martin is the Project Manager responsible for construction oversight and management of the Texas A&M University System south program management team. He is currently acting as the owner’s agent on six construction projects valued at $120 million on the Corpus Christi Campus responsibilities consist of program safety procedures, implementation of quality assurance, management of project schedules and budget, coordination of many A/E firms, contractors, subcontractors, campus users and Texas A&M System. Provides leadership to the team from the programming/design through to the close out/warranty phases.
